  • Pastor, I understand Clay Aiken will also be on this show. Much prayer has gone up for him over the past 5years. I truly believe this is a divine appointment for Jennifer and Clay and You. I know the tapping may have already been done but God is truly in this and many seeds will be planted. May we all continue to pray over these seeds and Praise our God for the Work He is bringing forth….PRASIE HIS HOLY NAME

  • Pastor,
I am so proud of you for standing up for God’s Word on CNN. Please continue to stand for God’s Word and speak the truth about homosexuality. I totally agree with you. I don’t believe you were condemning her but the behavior. We all sin but the difference between sinners and believers is consciously knowing that we are sinners and ask for forgiveness daily because of the belief in Jesus Christ. Don’t allow the enemy to bring you down because of this testimony on television. God will care for you. I pray for all pastors to stand for the truth of God’s Word like you have.

  • Can’t help but comment. If you knew much about the Bible and historical times, you would realize that homosexuality was rampant. Since that is true why aren’t there more passages in the Bible denouncing it? Some day in your church it will be the same as the acceptance of Blacks and women’s rights. I have a feeling you are really threatened with your own homosexual feelings!!!

  • I really feel sorry for all the people that follow you. I really do.

  • Bob,

I love the Lord and Jesus has been so faithful in my life. I have to say that you have hurt my heart when I watched you on Larry King Live. When Jesus would have fought more for sinners you fought more for legalism. Christ is no more hurt by homosexuality then he is addiction. Would you fight a crack addicted single mother as venomously as you did Jennifer Knapp? Don’t you know that 90% of homosexuals come from a molested back ground? Do you not know or understand the very heart of Jesus that gave himself as a choice to die for all of us – not just hetrosexuals. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not homosexual in any way – but I know the heart of Jesus is disgusted with people whom point their fingers at one sin and not their own! I know that you will disregard my post as some satanic attack – but ask yourself did Jesus get that from the Pharisees at every turn? Why not take a quiet momment and reflect your own heart as Jesus did all the time? That was so hurtful – she needs Christ as we all do and what did you give her? Alienation great job respresenting a man whom gave his live for everyone not just you.

  • Thank you for standing up for the word of God so lovingly but yet truthfully on the Larry King interview!

So many pastors will not do that because they do not want to offend. We should be as tolerant as Jesus is, and homosexuality is not to be tolerated. I pray that the veil will be removed from Jennifer’s eyes and she will repent.

    Thank you again.

  • Pastor Bob, one point of clarification to my earlier post of this evening. Those of us who are born again are still sinners, and fornication, adultery, lying, etc., are not to be tolerated either.

If we are truly born again, the Holy Spirit living in us will let us know that these things are against all that Christ stands for, and we willl realize we must repent and return to Him.

  • proud of you bob, way to stand for the truth and speak in love.

  • I hope if truly u are “gods” word (which by the way no one is) you would at least know that a true god excepts EVERYONE!!! Have your believers believe in the good of humans and not let everyone be led by a book that can be interrupted in any way possible. AMEN to no judgment or made up sins!!! Please post this so that your community gets all views from out in the world! Love and honoring humans each day is stronger than believing in who is sinning where and when. DO NOT SEGREGATE!!!

  • Thank you for taking a stand on God’s Word. Your interview on Larry King was refreshing in our society of no morals. I pray that others may take the same public stand and stand against sin.

  • I commend you Pastor Bob for speaking the truth so sorry Mr. Haggard did not back you up he forgot 1CORINTH.5+6 that we are to judge the believer NOT THE UNBELIEVER.His church reprimanded him or he would still be doing what he was doing GOD SAYS THERE MUST BE ORDER IN THE CHURCH. Correction is not the same as condeming. 2 Tim 3:16 } Jesus said in John 7:24 when you judge don’t judge on appearance but on righteousness. the end times say people will turn to leaders who will do things that please them not follow the scriptures Ted and Jennifer have done this Ted IS NOT LISTENING TO THE Holy Spirit HE DID NOT SAY BEING GAY WAS WRONG .

  • Pastor,
I stumbled upon the Larry King show tonight.

I am still watching as I write this.
I can see what you had to deal with on that show.
It is so hard to present spiritual truth to those who refuse to aknowledge it.
The devil loves to pile on, and he uses Larry King as a mouthpiece on these issues, and he saw fit to throw in a Ted Haggard, who obviously sides with those who promote homosexuality as a viable alternative, in spite of his claim to understand the scriptures. On this program, his only answer to every question is that “judging others” is wrong…which gets him off the hook, and King and his minions are lapping it up, thinking him to be some supreme spiritual authority.
Jennifer is living in deception, and it is shameful that she has reached a place in her deception that she feels that is okay to proclaim her sin and become an advocate for it.

The one thing that differentiates homosexuality from all other sin, is that homosexuality is the one sin that is openly promoted as a viable alternative to mankind. There is no “Adultery community”, no “Theft Pride community”, no “Rape and Molestation” community…but there IS a “Gay community”….and that is the big difference…a segment of society has chosen to seek validation and approval for thier sin of choice, and the forces of hell are behind it.

You did an outstanding job on Larry King, standing on Gods’ Word in the face of heavy demonic oppression. It truly was spiritual warfare. I’m sure that we would be amazed, if the veil were removed, to see the supernatural forces that were in play behind the scenes of that show.
    Well done!

  • Dear Bob,

I was compelled to write after watching you on CNN tonight. As a man of very strong Christian faith, I listened very carefully to what you had to say on CNN. I am terribly dissappointed by your double speak. By your own admission, God is omniscient and I will remind you that God has put that woman on her journey. You are manipulating His teachings to bolster your own prejuidice — Jennifers relationship is with God, not with you. God will judge her when he welcomes her into Heaven, but you are getting busy judging her on behalf of him before hand. God speaks to all of us, and Christ died for all of us. Its not your place to “hurry” God up as he guides Jennifer through her lifes journey. I was repulsed by your arrogance — and you have lost a follower. Jennifer taught me a great deal about love and patience tonight and you opened my eyes to the seeds of ignorance that will lead to the hurt and persecution of others. As a Christian in this debate, you should be the one hanging your head and asking forgiveness. Judge not, lest you be judged. I suggest you step away, examine the sin of Pride and ask His forgiveness for your pompous arrogance. As a straight, Christian who reads the bible every day..You do not speak for me, you do not have an ally in me and you are no more capable of interpreting the Bible than anyone else in or outside of your congregation. To assume God has imparted more Christian knowledge on you, than anyone inside or outside your congretation, is blasphemous in and of itself.

  • Jin,
You shouldn’t be a follower of Bob anyhow.
    Follow Jesus!

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.”

Read the word Jin! Jesus said, the road is broad and leads to destruction and many go there, but the road is NARROW that leads to eternal life and few will find it.
Not my rules, not Bobs rules…..Gods rules
Jesus was not slaughtered on a cross so that we could dishonor and pervert
    his word..thats blasphemous!

  • As a Buddhist of 25 yrs. I DO NOT JUDGE anyone… It seems very arrogant for you Bob to think you are the judge. When are all you “judging hypocrites” going to learn the life revolves around LOVE!

  • Watched Larry King last night and wanted to contact you and
let you know that you handled yourself with grace and conviction. I can’t imagined how it felt to be on the front line of the trickery and double talk that was coming at you. We live in a day when people will find way to justify just about anything but in the end it is only to their own hurt. the devil has decieved them into beliveing that they may still have a relationship with God. so very sad.

  • Person headed toward a bridge that’s out: “zippity doo dah…”
Christ-follower, submitted to God: “Hold up, the bridge is out!”

Person headed toward a bridge that’s out: “How dare you judge me!”

Christ-follower, submitted to God: ‘Please, I love you…repent.”

Person headed toward a bridge that’s out: “Narrow, judgmental …who are you to tell me anything!”

The serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die!

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.

  • Thank you Pastor Bob!
The word is very clear on this issue and others… it is not judging to encourage someone to turn from their sin. I am sorry that Ted Haggard like so many others seem to want to please man rather than stand up for the clear and simple inerrant truth (Couldn’t even say he believed homosexuality is wrong and …he wasn’t “going to get into that…” very sad…Larry is used to politicians… ).

Love is the greatest commandment but, love is speaking the truth out of love and concern for Jennifer which you did. Thank you for not being a pragmatist on the issue which is so uncommon today. It is not important that we are liked by the world but considered a faithful servant of the Living God.

PS I didn’t find you arrogant in anyway. You acted humble as you stood for what the word clearly says and like Paul in love, you were also bold…(that tends to upset people). All have sinned…and all are required to turn from their sins…and sin no more.

I wonder if you asked Ted, Jennifer….if Christ is the only way to the Father if you would get a clear and resounding yes…just a thought

Philippians 1:14 (New King James Version)
14 and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

  • Pastor Bob,

I attended your church last June while visiting my sister Lisa H., a member of Horizon.

I watched Larry King’s show last night. You did a wonderful job of presenting Truth, with the small amount of time given to you. Horizon is very blessed to have you!

  • Pastor Bob,
Lord Bless you and keep you and His face shine upon you today. I’m sure the enemy wants to attack you right now and is working hard to make people reject God’s plan for a life filled with love, joy, and peace. It seems that some people don’t understand that living a life filled with habitual sin is so different than sinning every day as our flesh rears up it’s ugly head. I love that God’s kindness leads us to repetance but speaking the truth in love, which is the much harder thing to do, is what you had to do and praise God He used you to do it! Bless you!!!

  • Larry King asked Pastor Botsford if he ate shellfish and he replied yes. Larry then pointed out that it was prohibited, unclean food. Pastor responded by saying God changed His mind on that and pointed to Peter’s vision described in Acts 10. The interesting thing is that Peter’s vision had nothing to do with clean or unclean food if you read the whole passage. It has to do with accepting gentiles (unclean) as brothers in Christ (see v.28). The point is that everyone reads the Bible selectively, including Pastor Botsford. We read the words and assign meaning to them as we wish. This should tell us about human nature and make us humble. We have thousands of denominations, each claiming to have the right interpretation of the Bible. It’s time we come to realize our limits of knowledge and trust God to show the way.

  • I watched Larry King and prayed during the show. Bob you did well considering how many were against you. Thank you for stepping to the front lines ! May Jesus shine through you.
I so wanted you to speak to the issue of ‘extra marital sex’. I agree fully that praciticing homosexuality is sin . Would Jennifer have thought adultery or premarital sex was wrong.?? That too is clear in Scripture. Any sex outside of marriage is sin. And since few states recognize homosexuality in marriage.(even though we are sliding quickly to allow gay marriages) …all of the ‘ gay couples’ are extra marital. I was just curious how she would have responded.

  • I’m with you in everything you said at Larry King show. No wonder nobody shares your vision because comes from God’s point of view. Keep preaching the truth of the Word. If God brings you over (Costa Rica) count with us.

  • Brother Bob,
I, too, caught the Larry King show. Homosexuality has been such a oddity to me. And Christian homosexuality even more so. My point of view at this point, after reading all the articles and praying, is that this is an part of Jennifer’s life that has been suppressed for a long time due to the pressure to be christian and heterosexual. Finally, she is being honest about herself which I believe is paramount for Jesus to speak to her about it. I think it is best to state that you believe homosexuality is a sin but allow God to deal with Jennifer. Who knows? Her journey In and Out of homosexuality may be the key to helping many other homosexuals in the church. I trust your motives are love, but I think this is something God has to confront her with by His holy spirit.

  • Pastor,

The peace of our Lord be with you. You did well not to argue with fools. Just a favorite scripture that ISN’T convenient to those who only want to hear that God will accept them as they are. He does, but He wants them to change.

    1 Corinthians 5:12-13
12-13 It is not my business to judge those who are not part of the church. God will judge them. But you must judge the people who are part of the church. The Scripture says, “You must get rid of the evil person among you.”

    Blessings

    Hank

  • Pastor Bob,

It had to take great courage for you to walk into the lion’s den (Hollywood) and do the Larry King show that night. Thank you for walking the talk! I thought that you summed up things so concisely when you told the story of Jesus and the adulterous woman, and reminded us all about the portion of the verse that most everyone tends to forget, when Jesus said, “Go and sin no more.”

Jennifer is called to a higher level of integrity when she wants to continue in a public role as a “Christian” singer. When she claims to be motivated so much by love, how can she ignore Paul’s comment in 1 Cor. 8 when he says that many things are lawful for me to do, but if eating meat causes my brother to sin, I will not eat meat. Jennifer, your actions will unquestionably cause others to fall into sin!

Thank you so very much Pastor Bob for being willing to stand up for the bible; you have given many of us that much more courage to stand with you in defense of God’s word, yet with gentleness and reverence just like you did Friday night. God bless,

  • I’ve heard it said many a time , that the music business isn’t about music… sorry to say this sneaks into the “Christian Music” arena as well… Larry King isn’t about truth, he is out to raise eyebrows and get reactions, all to the tune of a pretty penny!
It seems that the peein’ on each others boots that I’ve been reading here is getting the cart before the horse, perhaps we all need to get the logs out of our own eyes… if you ain’t perfect you’re still a rotten sinner saved by grace alone…and if you take Pauls advice you shouldn’t even eat with sinners… think we all may get lonely? Hungry?

  • Pastor Bob,

I just want to you to say thank you for standing on God’s word and not what the world thinks the bible should say. What a blessing to see you contend for our faith by and being light among darkness. Haggared just epitomizes what is wrong with many church’s today, and that they can even call sin, sin. They have do dance around such an easy answer to a simple question. I am reminded of 1 John 2:5 “but whoever keeps His word truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him”. Thanks again for your dedication to scripture and Jesus Christ. God bless you.

  • How many of you would vote to criminalize homosexuality if given the chance? If some of you truly equate homosexuality to murder, drug use, pedophilia, etc. shouldn’t you believe that gays belong in jail?

  • Pastor Bob,

May the Lord Jesus Christ Bless you richly for standing up for His Word and the Truth, I see the Lord’s hand in having you on such a widely watched show, that His Word would go out, and those who have ears to hear would hear…. Bless you.

  • You are a lost, sorry man. Sadly, you will most likely leave this world with only a wimper – never knowing the truth.

  • Jesus said in Matthew, “..my own people are destroyed because lacking knowledge..” If one makes a decision, and it is a decision, to openly proclaim he/she is a christian, that person cannot also proclaim to be homosexual.
There’s something called the Bible, and throughout the epistles it clearly states that homosexuals, along with others, will not inherit the kingdom of God, but will be thrown into the lake of fire. Repentance means turn from sin and never look back at it again. One cannot remain or continue as a christian while living and professing that he/she is homosexual, a lifestyle that the Bible(the christian’s handbook) clearly dictates is perverse and unacceptable to a christian. Apply this principle to everything….that’s like proclaiming to the masses to be a doctor, then walking into a hospital operating room and attempting to perform surgery. Looks of insanity would be given, then time in jail for impersonating a doctor. Take a good look at Bob Botsford, because it’s rare to see someone of that caliber regarding responsibilities and obligations concerning the love and care for genuine followers of Christ. If we decide to be something, or live accordingly to something….then do it, if not, stop wasting people’s time. Being passive on issues like this is what confuses our children, who are the next generation of leaders and believers of Christ. Fan the flame…….

  • thank you Pastor Bob. It bothers

  • So would you criminalize homosexuality then? Punishable by death? Life imprisonment? How much do Christians despise this so called “sin”?

  • To Barb and Jin,
Barb, Pastor Bob is not claiming to be God’s word, he merely stated that it is his responsibility, as should be of commited Christians, to be representatives of God’s word. Why call ourselves Christians if we are to run around acting and living like non -believers? When we take on the name of Christ, we have a responsibility to exemplify His character and obey and practice what is in His word, the Holy Bible. While it’s true that God loves and accepts everyone of His children, He, nonetheless abhors and rejects sin. He states, “I, the Lord, cannot look upon sin with any degree of acceptance” It’s silly for you to hide your head in the sand and pretend everything is gonna be alright because God is a loving God who forgives all of us. He does love us and He does forgive, but He also has standards, and His standards are perfect. Furthermore, He is a just God and He will execute His judgement on all unrepented sin. Pastor Bob was not judging Jennifer, he was merely affirming God’s word, the Bible is very clear on the sin of homosexuality, God regards it as an abomination. If are uncomfortable with the message, you should not attack the messenger.
    Jin,
I was struck by your comment to pastor Bob. You consider yourself a strong Christian and yet you miss the point. Bob was not judging Jennifer, he was simply stating what the Bible sais about homosexuality. He repeately stated that he was only going with what God’s standard on homosexuality is. I did not find him arrogant at all, in fact, compared to everyone else on the show he was the demure one. Larry kept rudely interrupting him, while allowing Jennifer and the other so-called pastor to express their opinions freely. Goes to show the clear double standard espoused by the Liberal left. We need more people to stand strong for the gospel of Jesus Christ and to not be ashamed of it nor to coward down to the plague of political correctness.
If you read your Bible every day like you claim to do, you might pay closer attention to what God has to say about sin and judging sin. Finally, Jennifer never actually said she was a Christian, only that she was a “person of faith” which can mean anything really. So, as far as we’re concerned, she is probably not saved, thus, don’t assume heaven is her destination.

  • Mr. Botsford:
You cited the story of Jesus and the woman taken in adultery, but I think you missed the point. When Jesus told the woman, presumably a heterosexual woman, to sin no more he was not commanding her to be celibate — he was telling her to be faithful to her husband. Likewise, authentic Christianity should be encouraging all believers, regardless of their sexual orientation, to remember that sexuality is not a tool to be used for short-term gratification at the expense of another, but rather a way that we share ourselves most intimately with those who have chosen to bind their lives inextricably to our own.
In Romans, Paul’s view of sin goes beyond specific sinful acts and penetrates to the core of who we are, such that even our self-proclaimed righteousness is fecal in God’s estimation. If God can take animal sexuality and make it holy in human love, why should that not apply to the homosexual as well as the heterosexual, “oh you of little faith?”

  • @jz — Your reference to Adam & Eve made me realize that the Bible teaches sin entered the world in the context of a God-ordained, heterosexual marriage. How ironic!

  • Don’t you wish we lived in a theocracy, ruled by the bible? This gay issue would be solved in a heartbeat. We all know homosexuals choose to be this way, they crave the attention. Even if it means being harassed and spat on. They love it. Gays could easily choose a straight life if they truly wanted to. God hates this sin, but they keep on sinning. Logic concludes that homosexuals CHOOSE to hate god by defiling love! Can we love these sinners? No! We KNOW how god feels about homosexuality …he abhors it.
God hates: atheists, secular laws, gays, Obama.
I kno because the bible told me so. How do I kno that the bible is right? God wrote it. How do I know that god wrote it? Well, the bible tells me so.

  • John Malki, Esq.

Saw you on LKL and read your 4/13/10 blog. Thumbs up for holding fast to the truth when most wimp out. Turn up the heat.

  • Saw you on YouTube clarifying your message about Jennifer Knapp and her choice to lead homosexual lifestyle. I thought it was well-stated and loving and has helped me not only form an opinion on the subject but it has also reminded me as a heterosexual living a celibate lifestyle to not give into my own temptation. Lately, the worldly view of sex & justification of it, and its mockery of us who are abstinent has been wearing me down. Even within the church, I feel like I’m in the minority (and I’m well past the socially acceptable, true love waits age.)
